Since it's Independence Day in the Philippines, I'd like to blog about one of the Filipinos favorite dishes... Lechon Kawali (our local version of Roasted Pork with really crispy skin), though ironically, at Mitzis - a Cantonese Kitchen, this dish is called Lechon Macau, but believe me, it's the same banana, or should I say, it's the same pork with Crispy Skin.
Mitzis' version of Lechon Kawali is so good, my sister and I actually crave for it, and we even go to the extent of planning a trip to 168 (in the heart of Manila's Wholesale Mecca) on a holiday (so the driver can take us) just so we can satisfy our Lechon Craving.

| While you can order the Pork per Kilo, we are happy enough to order a King Boat Set Meal each. It comes with one order of vegetables, and a generous serving of fried rice and lechon kawali. |

Imelda has been known to be a fan of Mitzi's Lechon Macau. My aunt once tried to buy some, but they were already sold out because rumor has it, that when Imelda comes, she buys all the Lechon in stock. Parang shoes lang... so just hope you don't come on the same day she does.
BTW, my sister was surfing where else Mitzis has branches and she found out that they have a Food Truck called... Ser Chef's lechon. That's Pinoy humor for you.
