Din Tai Fung, Must Eat in Taipei

I love Din Tai Fung so much, it's our Singapore Comfort Food, that I was quite surprised I've never blogged about Din Tai Fung in Taipei, where Din Tai Fung is originally from.

While Din Tai Fung has several branches in Taipei, the one we always visit is the Taipei 101 branch, since it's located in a Mall, and it's very near Mitsukoshi, another favorite place of ours.
Din Tai Fung is always busy so it's best to come during the off hours.
We normally come for a late lunch, and we still get a crowd like this.
Don't worry. The waiting time isn't that long. Probably around 15 mins,
which you can use to decide on your order. Then you get seated.
Din Tai Fung in Taipei is honored with 1 Michelin Star.
One of the cheapest Michelin starred places, together with Tim Ho Wan.
Their tables have cute merchandise with their mascot on it.
They have a souvenir store, so you can actually buy
their mascot on everything!
Sofia also loves Din Tai Fung.

Our normal order includes:
Their famous Xiao Long Bao, ofcourse!
In Taipei, they even have instructions on how to eat it.
Pork Chop and Egg Fried Rice.
And an order of Veggies.
The restaurant layout in Taipei feels the same as in Singapore.
Sofia loves watching them make Xiao Long Baos in the open kitchen.
Did you know Tom Cruise came for a visit and they taught him how to
make Xiao Long Bao?
After eating, Sof like walking around while
waiting for the others to finish so picture muna.
Every trip, she gets her picture taken with the
Din Tai Fung guy.
So, is Din Tai Fung really better in Taipei vs Singapore? Well, since it tastes really good to me no matter where I eat it, I am not sure I can tell the difference. But one thing is sure, I will always eat in Din Tai Fung when I visit Taipei. just saying.
