When I travel to Singapore for work, I normally stay at Park Hotel Alexandra due to it's proximity to the office. The location is quite nice because it's beside IKEA, across Anchorpoint and there are a lot of good hawker places within walking distance.
With so many eating options to choose from, I've always wanted to try The Bakehouse by Carpenter and Cook, a hipster looking cafe right beside the hotel, but I have never gotten a chance to do so, until our last trip.
It was an easy decision to come here for dessert after grabbing some dinner at the hawker place across the street. So easy in fact, that we actually came here twice.
The first time around we had the Passionfruit Meringue Tart around SG$650 which was really very good. |
On our second visit, since there were more of us, we also had the Caramel Chocolate Tart also around SG$6.50. Again, it was excellent. |
And the Passionfruit Meringue Tart again to share. |
Coffee and Tea are quite pricey (for PH standards at around SG$5 a cup). I found it even more expensive for tea, especially if you're just staying at Park Hotel where the Gryphon Tea is free, and especially if you compare it to the price of the desserts, which are big enough for 2 to share, but that's just me. Sometimes I'm a really cheapskate. just saying.
