Happy 55th Birthday Yaya Naling!!!

Yaya Naling, who Sofia fondly calls "Lola Yaya (Grandma Nanny)", turned 55 yesterday.

Happy Birthday Lola Yaya!

Lola Yaya is already part of our family. She's spent more than half her life with us, having been with us for thirty two years now. There are even times when Sofia declares her to be her favorite person in the world, and I just try not to be sensitive. Hahaha.

We brought Yaya with us to Singapore, and when I moved into our Urbana flat, it was yaya who made sure we settled down into a comfortable home, because I was too busy with work, as I had to fly to Thailand, with literally only 2 or 3 days to move in.

Yaya unpacked all these
and made our urbana flat a home.
Sofia and I threw a lot of parties in Singapore,
because yaya cooked for all our guests.

We also brought yaya with us when we traveled to places where a visa was not required for Filipinos.

With Sofia at the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand.
On our way to Batam, Indonesia.
In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam,
before boarding the Ferry to Vung Tao.
At the Phnom Penh Night Market in Cambodia.
Finishing our money on the last day by buying souvenirs from
vendors on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I also dragged yaya to shop with me
in Johor Premium Outlets, Malaysia,
one weekend when Sofia was not in Singapore.

Every year, yaya cooks a really yummy dinner as her birthday treat for us.

We always look forward to the Pancit Molo because it's really, really good.
There's also the yummy fried wanton, which we love munching on.
Sofia also helped make some
pinsec (fried wanton in another form).
Yaya steamed Lapu-Lapu for Papa because
he's recently been on a fish diet.
And she cooked Chopsuy for us, with only yummy parts,
even if she doesn't eat vegetables.
Then she fried Chicken Wings to make sure
Sofia has something she likes for dinner.

Thanks for spoiling us Lola Yaya!!! Hope you have 55 more happy years with us :)

Though, you'll probably have to marry some French dude so you can move to Paris with us, because I don't know how have no patience  to do the visa thing. just saying.
