Tim and Kim's Birthday Dinner at Lugang Café

We had a belated birthday (and Annual Cliquish Christmas Part 2) celebration for Tim and Kim last Saturday.
The birthday celebrants, who treated us, have a penchant for Chinese food.
So it was a really fun beho (not meant in an insulting way of course)
celebration. Hahaha.
We were given the first table on the second floor so you could see
Chipsy's back from the street.
The early birds... and all that may be true, because we got to eat first.

If you make a reservation, they will give you a slot on the upper floors if you agree to arrive for the first seating for dinner at 6:30pm. I arrived at around 6:40pm and even though it was early, the line at the entrance was already very long for the walk-in customers.

Thanks for ordering so much food Tim!!!
Cold White Chicken Starter
This was really good. It tasted so much better than it looks because it's
egg tofu, with mushrooms and onions under it.
The Crispy Fried Chicken was a hit with the kids.
Xiao Long Bao!!! I think they're known for this.
But I didn't think it was anything special.
The soup was too gingery for me.
We also had Sweet Sour Pork.
and Sigarillas.
Yah, from the Bahay Kubo Song!
There was also Spring Rolls.
And Gyoza.
They go around and serve the shrimp balls.
We had many orders of this because there are only 5 pieces,
so I was able to take a picture of the full plate before it was served again.
Sofia started bugging her ninang after she finished
eating her Crispy Chicken.
Of course, we had to order the Birthday noodles!!! :)
Frank and Kim arrived just in time for this,
as we've managed to wipe-out the other dishes before they arrived.
The kids know who to go to for cash,
because they got Amah Chipsy to fund their coins for wishing in the fountain.
Birthday boy getting birthday noodles.
Tim and his illegal wife for the night. Hahaha. Joke!
Thanks for treating your wife's friends Tim! :)
They served this at the kids table and I was so tempted to get one.
It sat there for around 15mins,
and it turns out to be the order of the next table.
The servers just picked it up,
and gave it to them, which is really unhygienic. just saying.
Frank and Kim ordered a second round of some of the fave dishes
that we managed to finish (ooops, sorry),
but they also ordered this Fried Tofu which is one of their faves.
Kim also ordered a beef dish for the kids table.
It was a bit on the sweet side, but the litid was really yummy.
Some of my friends have raved about Lugang.
Now I know why they do.
I just don't get why they call themselves a Cafe.

After eating, it was our favorite time... Time for gift giving!!! You'll notice that it's not just the restaurant that's Chinese, even our gifts are too. So many red envelopes going around. Hahaha.
Happy Birthday Tim!!!
Happy Birthday Kim!!!

Then we moved on to giving our Kris Kringle Presents. (this is the part 2 of our Cliquish Christmas Celebration).

More red envelopes for Tim from Daddy Frank.
Tim gave a red envelope to Cha,
which we used to pay for our Coffee after. Thanks Cha!
So it was Vice who got Chipsy.
So Kim got her Rustans GCs from Mommy Chips.
And Kim got Vice so we had to start the loop again.
Mommy Tiana gave me my gift which she bought from the states.
Thanks Mommy Tians.
Sofia and I are so happy with our new Lego food keepers.
Then Mommy Faith gave Tiana her The Spa GCs.
Ninang Faith didn't get her gift yet,
so she got hugs nalang from her inaanaks.

Our dessert arrived right after our gift giving intermission. It was eating time again. Hooray. Hahaha.

We ordered a Mango Sago dessert with Coconut Milk and Pomelo.
It was yummy.
The Mango Pudding looked out of place in this restaurant.
Hindi man lang binigyan ng effort yun pagplate. Tsk Tsk.Anyway, it went well with the other Mango Dessert.
This was the surprise discovery of the night.
This yucky looking dessert is really good if you like peanut butter.
It's a combination of Black Sesame and Peanut Shaved Ice,
served in the Singapore Traditional Desserts style.

We were done so early with dinner because we arrived for the first seating, so we walked to UCC, the venue of our Cliquish Christmas Celebration Part 1, so we could burn some calories from our huge dinner as it was all of two buildings away. Hahahaha.

Chipsy was happy she got to order her favorite drink.
I was so intrigued by UCC's Kori Kohi because I've never seen it before.
Frozen Coffee cubes, that you melt with the milk.
So you just pore the milk.
You can add more once the cubes melt more.
Then they also give you syrup.
Must Try for next time.
Our side of the table.
Tiana and I ordered the Siphon Coffee.
I chose the second to the strongest brew expecting it to be lame.
I was up till 5am.
My favorite part of UCC coffee are their brown sugar crystals. Yummy.

Thanks Again Tim and Kim for your yummy birthday treat. It left such a mark on me, I refused to eat anywhere Chinese today because I'm still so full from last night's dinner. just saying.
