Brunch at Daniel Boulud's Bistro Moderne

When we were in Singapore two weekends ago, our first two days were at an amazing race pace. We squeezed in our Legoland and Johor Premium Outlets visit, and also did all the shopping and eating we missed. Sunday was kept free for the Art of Brick exhibit and to relax and we wanted to have a good brunch to start our day.

Our brunch place criteria was a bit difficult to meet because we wanted to go to a place with good reviews (we already experienced the suckiest brunch buffet in Singapore ever - at Sky on 57 at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel but let me save that story for another day) and we wanted to go somewhere with no lines, and hopefully, close to MBS.

We decided to just check out the brunch menu of the celebrity chefs. We were choosing between Mario Batalli's Osteria Mozza's Bellini Bruch (with eggs and meat options) or Daniel Boulud's Bitro Moderne. We opted to go for DB Bistro Moderne because they had eggs benedict on the menu.

DB Bistro Moderne is across the theater in MBS.

We were so hungry, and it was good the staff overheard us, so they immediately served us bread.

The bread was really good.
Sofia loves bread.

Tim ordered the three set course brunch for SG$65 (Php2,200). It comes with a drink, plus your choice of starter, main and dessert.

Tim got Mushroom Soup.
He got Belgian Waffles for dessert Sofia.
We told them to serve it already.
It was served with Chantilly, Chocolate Sauce,
and Dulce de Leche.
His main course was Steak Minute with Fried Egg and Breakfast Potatoes.

Ady and I shared two dishes.

We ordered eggs benedict because we were craving for it.
I think it's very reasonable for SG$22 (Php750)
It didn't disapoint with the runny yolk that went well with
the ham and spinach. The salad was also a good complement.
We also ordered the Original DB Burger for our meat fix.
SG$42 (Php1420)
The burger is taller than the bucket of fries!!!
It's a sirloin burger filled with Braised Short Ribs and Foie Gras.
They actually had me at foie gras :D
I could come back for more of this.

Sofia didn't finish her waffles so we had some of it for dessert.

I loved the Dulce de Leche sauce.
It went really well with the fries too.

DB Bistro Moderne is a hidden gem of a brunch place. It has great ambiance and great food with no lines. Shhhhhhhh.... don't tell anyone about it, so we won't have to line up when we come back to Singapore for brunch. just saying.
