Christmas Dinner at Champêtre

We were supposed to try a new place for dinner with Jem and Tim, but we didn't realize they were not open on Sundays, so instead of finding another new place to try, I asked everyone if they were ok with Champêtre, and old favorite even from when it was known as Je Suis Gourmand.
The place is perfect for Christmas dinner because they
have an indoor and outdoor tree. Hahaha.
We had such a hectic day, running from one party
to the next, but we still arrived earliest.
Sofia was hungry na so she started on the bread.
My all time favorite dish is Pan Seared Foie Gras with Side Salad.
It's not on the menu, so just ask your server.
It is also a very generous serving.
This is only half because I split mine with Tim.
I also like the French Onion Soup.
This is also a half serving because I was hoping to eat more than just starters.
I ordered the Angus Onglet.
It was nice as usual, but it was just too rich!!!
This is the half I left for Tim after eating the smaller portion.
Tim ordered the Rack of Lamb and we asked them to change
the side to Carbonara Risotto because he wanted carbs.
I didn't expect the lamb to be cooked as if the sides were fried.
The sauce was also very bland and did not do anything to add flavor to the lamb.
Jem ordered the Prawn and Fish (with skin on that made it taste fishy)
with Pomodoro Risotto.
Me and Fif.
Fif loved the french fries the most.
Jem and Ivan.
Ivan ordered the Pork Sausage Cassoulet (Casserole).
Tim tried to do much damage.
I pretended to exercise control after I finished most
of the foie gras (mine and some of Tim's).

We were too lazy to move elsewhere... and have to order and eat more.
So we ordered a sorbet to cleanse our pallets.
Hahaha.
Jem's brilliant idea was putting our gifts under their tree.
Sofia wanted a picture with her favorite Ninong first.
Family picture next.
Then she insisted that Ninang Jem and Ivan
take a picture too.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Our bill was hilarious.
If I were superstitious, I would think it was our last meal.
Php6,666 net of tax and service charge.
I think we they consumed 3 baskets of bread.

When it was time to exchange gifts:
Sofia got to open the unwrapped one.
Hahaha.
Good thing Tim opened Jem's gift, since obviously, it wasn't meant for him.
Hahaha.
Sofia was so unhappy with the NOT-A-TOY gift she got last year,
that Ninong Tim and Ninang Jem made sure she got one this year.
Pack Your Bags Game perfect for the little jetsetter
We even moved to McDonald's so we could play one round.
Bag Check! Did you remember to pack the shades?!

Champêtre is always a winner.
I just have to exercise more control when we're ordering because unlike other French places, their servings are actually very generous. just saying.
