Family Meet and Greet in San Jose

One of the stops in our US trip was San Jose, because my aunts organized a Family Reunion, meaning everyone we are related to on my Paternal Grandmother's side (though Lola Racel is already deceased) was invited to come. The reunion was jointly organized by Auntie Celita (my dad's elder sister) and Tita Eyang (a cousin they grew up with in Zamboanga when they were children) who hosted the dinner in their home.

We flew in quite late from New York, and there were a lot of us, so we stayed at the Comfort Suites San Jose Airport, but because our flight came in an hour early, we ended up going to Tita Eyang's house to have a late dinner first before heading to the hotel.

I thought the hotel was just ok. It was big enough for four people with two queen beds, but it was just a regular hotel room on the big side.

It was only the next day at breakfast (included with the room), did we realize that we really, really loved this hotel.

They had the best bacon I ever tasted!!!

They had to bring out sausage because we
finished the bacon.

They also had a waffle maker, so you could make
your own Freshly Cooked waffles.
We played with this a lot, making different flavors,
including Bacon Waffle of course!

They also have bread and pastries (that were not too good).

and Eggs (that needs microwaving)

The food is just there, so you just walk in and help yourself.

I brought some flavored Oatmeal home.
(yes, all the way to the Philippines,
so I have breakfast in the office)

Sofia also brought some cereal,
but only to the room, not to the Philippines.

Everyone loved breakfast. We all love bacon. Hahaha.

We did our own thing during the day, then at night, we went to Tita Eyangs home for the Reunion. It was a great opportunity to meet everyone who could come because a lot of us just met each other for the first time.

It was also Tita Corina's birthday!

As usual, my daughter found cousins to play rough with.

It would have been better if I didn't have jetlag because I think I fell asleep towards the second half of the dinner. Hahaha.

They next day, all of us met at the airport so we could fly to Seattle
for our Alaska Cruise!

Thank you very much Tito Eric and Tita Eyang! Wish we could have stayed longer, but don't get surprised if we decide to take you up on your offer to come visit again. just saying.
