Art Classes at Museo Pambata

I found out about Museo Pambata's Art Classes through my friend Anna, who asked if I wanted to enroll Sofia with her two kids, Andie and Yonso. It's pretty convenient for us because Museo Pambata is only 15 minutes away from our office (with no traffic - in fact Google Maps says you can even walk there in 23minutes, except with the heat of summer, you'll get there melted. Hahaha), so we brought our kids this morning, then I rode with her back to the office while my driver waited for the kids to finish at noon and brought them back to us in time for lunch.

The only catch is the classes start at 9am, and all our kids happen to be night owls, so some warm-up time is required before they start participating.

I've never been to Museo Pambata before so I was quite surprised that even the public areas looked nice.

Museo Pambata literally means Children's Museum
Sofia's You-Just-Woke-Me-Up look.
Her love of museums managed to wake her up.

The Advanced Art Workshops were being held at La Puerta del Sol,
or this place showing a typical Filipino home.

They also have a small version of the Galleon Trade.

The Basic Art Class was conducted on the other side of the museum, near the library, where they had the Singapore exhibit.
We had so many pictures like this from our Singapore museum days.
Sofia is one of the early birds.
We reserved seats for Andie and Yonso so they could sit together.
All of them are such sleepy-heads.
There was a brief parent's orientation before the
first class. It was so brief I think I missed it.
Good luck Teacher Hubert. I hope you manage to wake up those kiddos.

The Art Workshops are 6 3-hour sessions, over 2 weeks. The culminating activity is a graduation program and art exhibit where the works that the children produce during the workshop will be exhibited for a week.

So just in case you are interested in owning an original Sofia, Alejandra or Emilio piece, make sure you visit Museo Pambata starting Saturday, 27th April. just saying.
