P365 TE Day 252

Routemaster or London's Double Deck Buses

Travel Bite: The iconic Routemaster or London's famous double deck buses have been in service since 1956. When I started visiting my cousin and my aunt in London in 1997, these buses were still commonly used. The back of the bus is open, so you can just jump right on or off, and wait til the conductor visits you to show your travel card or to buy a ticket. If he doesn't approach you, your ride is free. Now, you'll see the modern version of these buses around town, but you can still catch the original Routemaster on the Heritage Route (Bus Number 15).

Location: London
Date Photo Taken: May 2012
