Our favorite restaurant in Florence, we found through the recommendation of our landlady Ilaria. She said it was her favorite, so we tried it out on our first night there. It was a close walk from our flat, located just in front of the covered Mercato San Lorenzo, the food market.

| At first we thought it was an outdoor restaurant. |

| Then we found the real restaurant at the back. |

| They have a lot of old and kitschy things, including this statue with ZàZà post cards. |
 |
| And this one with matches. |

| When we finally got to our table, we saw that the meat fridge was right behind us. Hello, Bistecca! |

| The place was full, the ambiance was cozy, there was a lot of knick-knacks and old things, but together they worked. |

| The ceiling was painted, and the chandeliers were old. |
 |
| We saw someones plate with Prawn Risotto on our way in and we couldn't find it on the menu, so our server showed us the specials. |

| Kim and I shared Caprese to start. |
 |
| We ordered the Saffron Risotto with Shrimps and Fresh Truffles from the Specials menu. |

| It didn't disappoint. |
 |
| Coming from Paris, I was so surprised to see our bill. Everything was so cheap. Even wine was only Euros5 a glass. |
So when we were deciding where to eat on our last day, Trattoria ZàZà won by default.

| This time around, I had the Bistecca with Truffle Cream and Arugula. |
 |
| It was so good. You can't go wrong with three of my favorite food. |
 |
| We tried their Bruschetta too and it was nice and refreshing. |
 |
| On our way out, I noticed that they had a display where you can buy candles, jams, and spreads. |
I will definitely go back to Trattoria ZàZà the next time I find myself in Florence. It is very easy to find because all you need to do is look for the Mercato and it's right across. I can't wait to have their Bistecca again. Or maybe I can try and make it. Hahaha. Ambitious much. just saying.

At ZaZa restaurant foreign customers should keep attention to the receipt. The picture that you put above shows a true receipt, but often the foreigners receive false receipts: a little white piece of paper (instead of the bigger yellow one like the one above) that really seems good but it is false. It is a way to avoid of paying taxes (and it is dangerous for the customers too).
ReplyDeleteSo foregin customers (especially Korean ones) should always ask for the true receipt, the yellow one with the drawing of the child (you can see that all the Italian customers receive true receipt).
