Amangalla: An Aman Hotel
Travel Bite: Amangalla, sits in the historic port of Galle (120km or around 2 hours drive from Colombo). Amangalla offers guests an opportunity to explore the preserved Dutch Fort where the hotel is situated, as well as the white sand beaches of Amanwella another 2 hours away. Lunch at Amangalla makes a good day trip from Colombo. I remember the food to be good and reasonably priced, while at the same time you get to tour and appreciate what an Aman hotel offers without shelling out the cash to stay in one.
