P365 TE Day 38

Bo Tree at a Buddhist Temple in Sri Lanka

Travel Bite: The Bo (or Bodhi Tree) was believed to be the tree where Buddha was sitting under when he received enlightenment. In Sri Lanka, Bo Trees are decorated because they became a symbol of Buddha's presence, and therefore also a place of worship. In addition, Sri Lanka has a holiday every Poya (full moon) and some shops and most businesses are closed.
