Where to Buy Washi Tape and other Kawaii Stuff in Taipei

The original Washi Tape originates from Japan and is a high quality masking tape made of rice paper and comes in all colors and all kinds of print. Since Washi Tape became so popular, you can now find all kinds of Washi Tape, with different price points and different qualities no longer made just in Japan.

Since my sister and I love all kinds of Stationery products, we're always on the look out for cute Washi designs, especially if they are unique and affordable, and since we found a lot in Taipei, I wanted to blog about it so I can share the Washi Love. Hahahaha.

We first found a whole selection of fun tape branded washi tape
from Kinokuniya in the Takashimaya in Taipei.
You can put washi on anything.
I loved the spa, cooking, baking, and pastries designs.
I also used the thin washi to decorate in between.
To give you an idea of the price range for fun tape, the normal width washi tape (as pictured above) is around NT35 (SG$1.50 or Php50), the going rate in the Philippines for Washi Tape at bazaars is normally 5 for Php300 but you get a lot of the common designs. While the very thin washi tape only costs NT15 (SG$0.50 or less than Php25), while the medium width costs somewhere in between. I haven't seen the thinner sizes in Manila so I was really on hoarding mode.

On our last night in Taipei, Ady and I were just wandering around the XiMenDing area, looking for things to buy, and we spotted this store entrance which leads to a stationery store below.

If you're familiar with the XiMenDing intersection, it's in the first building
on the main road, with entrances on both sides (Main Road and XMD side).
This is what the store entrance looks like.
They had the whole selection of Fun Tape Washi, but since we already
bought from Kinokuniya, I didn't get to buy much more.
It was only after we paid did we realize that they charge you even
less than the SRPs that are written on the pack. Happiness.
Ady was just in Taipei, so she went to this store again, and came home
with more finds!
She got me the cutest page markers (like mini stick-on notes).
They even come in 5 different states of frosting! So cute.
Thank you Shobe for my loot!
For Sofia, we impulse bought some Rement looking Hello Kitty Bentos.
She liked it so much, we went back and bought the rest of their stock.

You can visit their website at www.9ta.com.tw, just use the translate page option so you can find their other branches and see their other products, as this store is more than just a washi tape store. I can't wait to go back. just saying.
