Travel Bite: Riding the Gondola in Venice is very expensive (around €80 for 40 minutes). You can take the traghetto (ferry) instead. It's what the locals use to cross the river. Locals only pay €0.70 while tourists are charged €2. It's still very cheap for a photo op.
