Taiwan Visa Not Required for Filipinos with a US Visa

We love going to Taiwan because it's only 2 hours away from Manila, the food is really good, and you don't need to apply for a visa if you are a Southeast Asian and you are a holder of a US Visa (or any of the other recognized countries).

Here are the simple requirements from their webpage:

People from India, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia should check online to see if they meet the following qualifications for a visit to Taiwan:

  1. Basic qualifications (All must be met)
    1. The applicant’s passport is still valid for at least six months. (This means that the passport is still valid for at least six months when its holder enters Taiwan rather than when the application is filed online.)
    2. The applicant should have a return plane or ship ticket.
    3. The applicant should have never been employed as a blue-collar worker in Taiwan.
  2. Special qualifications: (Having one of the following documents)
The applicant should have a valid (1) Permanent Resident Card or (2) Entry Visa, of any one of the following countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand; or one of the signatories of the Schengan Agreement.

(The applicant must present the document for inspection while entering Taiwan; if unable to produce it, his/her entry shall be denied.)
    1. Notice :
      1. The approved certificate is valid for 30 days and is good for multiple re-entries within 30 days. The 30 days of stay is counted from the next day after arrival.
      2. If any mistake is made on the on-line application, an applicant can always re-apply by filling out his/her application again.
      3. On-line applications are limited to those who have formal passports. Those who hold temporary passports, emergency passports, informal passports, or non-passport travel documents are not allowed to use on-line applications.
      4. On-line applications are only for those who hold valid visas. Those who hold work permits or related documents are not eligible.
      5. Applicants who hold Alien Permanent Resident Certificates without an expiration date can key in the “9999” in the year blank, “12” in the month blank, and “31” in the date blank.
      6. 6. Please print out the approved certificate by Laser printer.

Just follow this link for the online application form and you'll be ready to go to Taiwan in 5 minutes!

See you soon Taiwain! just saying.
