P365 TE Day 219

Château de Chenonceau

Travel Bite: The Château de Chenonceau is the most visited château in the beautiful Loire Valley in Central France. This once private residence also became property of the crown and was fought over by Diane de Poitiers (King Henry II's mistress) and Catherine de' Medici (his wife) after she was widowed. The place is beautiful and rich in history.

You can get a Day Tour from Paris, but renting a car to explore the area and stay for a bit will be much more relaxing and enjoyable. Chenonceau is around 3 hours away from Paris.

Location: Loire Valley, France
Date Photo Taken: April 2007
