P365 TE Day 230

Traditional Singapore Breakfast

Travel Bite: If Singapore had a counterpart of the a full English Breakfast, then I say this would be it. Our favorite traditional Singapore breakfast, available in all corner kopi-tiams (coffee shops) is Butter Kaya Toast (the best ones come with butter thicker than the bread - you can get that from the Ya Kun Chain), Soft Boiled Eggs (which a lady gives you in dipped in hot water - so it's like you actually cook your own eggs - because you fish them out and crack them open after a few minutes, add soy sauce and pepper and you're ready to eat), and no local breakfast is complete without Kopi - a strong malay blend coffee sweetened with Condensed Milk.

Location: Sinagpore
