Léon de Bruxelles

Now in London!!!

My favorite mussels places in the world is Léon de Bruxelles which we discovered when I lived in Paris. I always recommend it to friends who are going to Paris, as their flagship branch is right after the Tourist Must Do's on Champs Elysees... Louis Vuitton and LaDuree!

We didn't have time to visit it when we were in Paris a few weekends ago because we just had too much eating on the agenda already! It made me so happy when we saw the branch that they newly opened (January of this year) near Leicester Square and Covent Garden!

We first saw it when we were running to find shelter from the rain.

Of course we had to go back to have dinner there!

It's easy to find because it on a major intersection (Cambridge Circus) between Shaftsbury and  Charing Cross Road.

Tonight in my tummy.

Same look and feel as the Paris branches. 

My last Léon meal was in December 2010 at the Champs Elysees branch.

Our order is always the same.
1 baked + 1 in a pot = always to share with room for dessert

Yummy mussels with Marinara Sauce and some kind of cheese.

Ma ordered the one with bacon, mushrooms, white wine and creme fraiche.

You use the shells to remove the mussels.
But this is only for the pot orders.

Mama liked it so much that she says she will learn how to cook this for us at home.
Yay!

My order was really good.

But Ma's was so much better.
I just need to order both to alternate so I can eat more.

The bottom of the pot is the best... with all the mushrooms and bacon.
Just beware of shell particles.

You can't go to a Belgian Restaurant and not have waffles for dessert.
Funny though, cause I don't remember seeing Léon in Belgium.

Fif thought Manekin Pis was funny.

Mom, can I touch his weewee? Eeeewww Fif!

Note to self: When we live in Paris, Must bring Fif to see the Real Manekin Pis in Brussels. Just Saying.
